As the first Azerbaijani jewelry brand, Resm has recently presented its unique collection inspired by ornaments and designs of Azerbaijani carpets.
This model is inspired by the popular margin pattern widely used in Pirebedil (Shirvan), Göllu-Chichi (Quba) and some other carpets.
It is so-called Kufesque margin. Early forms of this design are discernible in fourteenth-century rugs, whose patterns are closely related to the decoration using Kufic script (the oldest calligraphic form of Arabic). Kufic script was prevalent in manuscripts in 8th-10th centuries and was used for arch inscriptions in mosques in the early Mongol period.
