Monumental collection is inspired by original, rich and varied art that integrated geometry in the construction of complex patterns that appear on the architectural ornaments.
The model was inspired by the patterns of Sheki latticework, a unique art-form using glass.
Sheki, located in the most picturesque area of Azerbaijan, is considered to be one of the oldest human settlements in the Caucasus, with archaeological evidence of human occupation from over 2500 years ago. The grand Sheki Khan palace is the pride of old Sheki. The palace was built in the 18th century without using a single nail or a single drop of glue. Latticework, a method of assembling pieces of wood and coloured glass, was used to construct the building.
Sheki has always been known as a city of masters, craftsmen and silk producers, and was visited by merchants from all over the Silk Road countries. For this reason, special attention was devoted to the construction of the caravansarays, the merchants’ hotels.
